Finishing up a few from the left coast, hopping back to Brooklyn and finding oldies. Vacation in LA (sister) and SF (newly discovered half-Brother) provided a lot great street art, with mural, stickers, sidewalk stencils and sculptures. Made me wonder about NYC and Brooklyn. (A recent trip of Bushwick shored up my opinions about Brooklyn in a huge way—it’s a bit rougher here, a bit more guerrilla, but solid. That will come up in turn.)
Going back into the vaults, I pulled out a few old samples going back 15 years, to when I didn’t know I was going to do anything with these images other than collect them and share a few with friends. Now, I see there are platforms for showing off the art of the streets in North and South America, Europe and Isreal. Eventually, they will all end up here, in front of your eyes.
I do hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I did capturing them.
West Coast—L.A. and San Fran.
Wrapping up the visit to family out West.
Detail of mural on the side of a shed in an ally just off of Haight Street. (The Courtyard is boss and will appear here over time.) #streetart#mural#sanfrancisco#haightashbury — with Max, Jay Shilliday, Karina Gukasian-Hunt and Michel MacPherson Kirby at Haight St.
The trompe l’oeil doorway to the Revolver Video Bar (in daylight): it’s what you do inside—look and watch. #streetart #trompel’oeil #WestHolywood #losAngeles
Two brains are better than one: a face revealed on a six story tall mural off Geary street. #streetart #mural #sanfrancisco
East Coast—Brooklyn and Manhattan
From the West Coast back home to NYC and the two boroughs I kick around the most.
Some swag from the Cash Grab Box celebrating Industrial Accident, the Wax Trax Records documentary. It’s not street art, but something I’d like to see on a wall someplace. Including two fabric patches, a 45 adaptor, pin and platen cover, featuring the bands My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, Front 242, Ministry, and RevCo, all making music that appears in A Perfect Blindness, the Novel A Rock’n’Roll Fantasy #waxtraxrecords #industrialAccident #APerfectBlindness #Chicago #Vans
A story of love and loss, making a van pretty, yet poignant: this kiss atop, and they are happy, moving in; next, they avoid each other’s eyes as one moves out. An intense moment. This also provides a chance to introduce a new category of public art: that which moves through the streets. Usually on a truck. #streetart#mural #movingart #Brooklyn #bayridge
A whole wall Mural of a Bouquet on Black, making an ugly wall something to look at.

From our honeymoon in Buenos Aires, Argentina (an old one, but I’m cherry picking the best to go across all platforms and into this StreetArt Fortnightly) #streetArt#mural#Bocajuniors#buenosAires#argentina 🇦🇷 — with Karina Gukasian-Hunt at Boca Juniors.
Details of Boca Juniors Mural, detailed enough that FB and Photos both want me to add names to these folks. We’d rather just party with the anonymous fans: they’re so excited. #streetart #mural #football#bocajuniors #buenosAires #argentina 🇦🇷
