A Front Row Seat to the Best Show in LIterature

Hey there,

You might know me. I’m Jonathan, lead singer of White Heat, more famously Mercurial Visions and now Merciful Release. Lance asked me to introduce the new book reel for A Perfect Blindness. That’s where I live. In its pages.

I will say I was surprised to be called out of a novel first published almost seven years ago. Sure, it got good reviews, including from Kirkus. And readers like it, with a 4.8 average star rating on Amazon. But it has languished.

Not my fault, mind you. I did all my work. Sang songs. Wrote Music. Fell in and out of love. Repeatedly.

No, that’s Lance’s fault. He’s the type who loves to plan and plan, and then plan some more, and create lists of ideas and todos, checklists particularly, accumulating reams of ideas, and folders full of images and reproductions of articles from the Novel’s pages, and so on, and lordy, it gives me a headache to even think about it all. He’s got a master plan so well worked out he can never get started because there’s always something else to get done first.

You might know other people like that—the lonely guy over there with all the great ideas that somehow seem to never turn into action. Slowly transforming him into a sad old man who coulda, woulda, shoulda, yet talks a good story about what he will do. One day.

Well, that seems, fingers crossed, to have changed.

See, the author is working on some promotions for the book. Seven years late, but better than never.

And as proof he’s doing something, he wants me to introduce the book reel for A Perfect Blindness. It captures the essence of the book. It’s already posted on YouTube and here our website, though it’s much easlier to watch on YouTube. So that’s what we’re sharing below.

Next month, there are real-life things nearing completion for an Amazon giveaway.

Right now, you can get a leftover Advanced Reader Copy at his cost (plus shipping) from his storefront on Amazon. Search for A Perfect Blindness and choose “Paperback from 9.75” or “Other Used, New, Collectible from $9.75.” (You want the “Collectible” one. For personalization, shoot him an email at wlance@wlancehunt.com, telling him what you want him to inscribe.)

Yeah, I’d love Mercurial Visions swag there, the t-shirts and wall hanging from the Micherigan Tour ’89, but I ain’t holding my breath.

Anyway, I want to thank Lance for getting the word out. For making this video. For finally, using those massive piles of ideas he has.

Without further ado, here is the book reel for A Perfect Blindness (click below to watch, and yes, there is music):

Stay tuned for my man Lance getting off his sorry butt and doing things. Here’s hoping for more surprises and soon—cheers, brother.

Oh, he wanted me to talk about some changes in Walking the Darkmaker’s Way, but I said no—not my gig. I still live in Chicago back in the late 80s. This other world? You’ll have to wait for Gary or Menno.

Hope to feel your eyes and ears.

Cheers,

Jonathan S.
