A Perfect Blindness and Tales of Another World

by wlancehunt in Books, Chicago, fantasy

I’m Gary. Most people reading this won’t know me. I live in a couple of books Lance is writing right now. Only a few folks have seen those early drafts, so I don’t quite feel alive yet. But Lance is hard at work bringing me and a host of other folks to life—us and a monster or three, some magic, river and mountain gods. So yeah, that kind of book.

Anyway, Lance sent me here to fix a mistake that eighties throwback Jonathan made.

Wrong email address

See, Jonathan wrote the wrong email address. It’s wlance@wlancehunt.com. But I guess that’s what you get from trusting a fictional musician from the 80s who drinks too much Jagermeister to write your emails. To be fair, emails were mostly “You’ve Got Mail” through AOL and we paid for by the hour back then. So, perhaps I’m being a bit harsh.

Muzzled and Beaten

But I’ve been imprisoned, muzzled, beaten, forced to wear burlap mittens, marched to a river, and then shoved into it from a high embankment. And I still don’t know what in the hell they want from me. A bit stressed out here.

Don’t get me wrong, I dig both Mercurial Visions and Jonathan’s follow-up band, Merciful Release. When I’m feeling angry about the divorce, it’s all Mercurial Visions, and I dance alone in my apartment. When life looks less bleak, it’s Merciful Release on my iPod.

Mercurial Visions’ First Concert

My friend Harold saw Mercurial Visions at their first concert, and he turned me on to them. Thanks for that, man. But no thank you for telling me about that woman from the Outer Hebrides. He said it would be an hour detour, but now I’ve been lost in this other world for weeks. With all these people after me. For something I don’t know a damned thing about.

Free ebook

Oh, before I forget, Lance is giving away the ebook version of A Perfect Blindness. Four days ONLY, March 26th to 29th, inclusive. So, if you haven’t grabbed a copy of Jonathan’s story, head to Amazon right now. Here is the link: Grab A Perfect Blindness for Free. While supplies last, as they say. That book, I’ve read. It’s a generous shot of chilled nostalgia.

Department of Works in Progress

My own story is moving along—sort of. Lance started my book but stopped halfway through to write a small tome to giveaway a sample of his style—about 90 pages—which got the better of him and is now a full-on novel, weighing in at over 200 pages. But that’s Menno’s story.

Now, I see Lance waving for me to stop. So, get the book right here: A Perfect Blindness for Free

Until later, dig the jams. You’ll be glad you did.

Department of High Fantasy

Thanks Gary.

Lance here.

BSFW has set up a place for us writers to log our writing. So we keep honest with ourselves. And since Feb 17th, I’ve logged in over 16,210 words for Walking the Darkmaker’s Way. Mostly rewriting, which is slow going. The point is–it’s GOING. More to come.

And do snag A Perfect Blindness for Free while you can.

What’s it about? I’ll let the book trailer tell you:

Talk to you next time.

Cheers.
